Kelin Salom - daughter-in-law’s greeting
"Kelin salom" or "greeting the daughter-in-law" is the final and one of the most ancient rituals of the Eastern wedding. This is the most interesting and especially colorful event of all. The daughter-in-law, in shiny outfits and with a headscarf covering her face, comes out to greet the guests with bows and even the children. Each bow of the daughter-in-law is encouraged by gifts from the groom's parents, usually they give expensive jewelry. According to tradition, depending on the relationship, young people are given everything they need for family life: furniture, carpets, household appliances, dishes, depending on the family status.
