Disappearing Giants: the history of ships in the sands of the Aral Sea

Ships as memory and history… They remained standing on the dried-up bottom of the once majestic sea. The picture is creepy, which should remind generations that people are destroying nature because of their greed. Where the seaport of Muynak used to be, rusted ships are now permanently moored. There are many of them, of various displacements, the skeletons of some of them resemble huge extinct dinosaurs. The cemetery of the lost ships in Muynak has become a memorial to the Aral Sea and a bygone era.
