Georgian winemaking
Georgian traditions can be described in several words: hospitality, polyphonic singing, and winemaking. Georgians and Uzbeks are very close in spirit and traditions. Both here and there love to receive guests, eat delicious food and celebrate significant events on a large scale. A separate point in the life of Uzbek Georgians is the date of the national holiday "Rtveli", the day of harvesting grapes and making wine from them. It usually falls at the end of September or the beginning of October and depends on the time when the grapes are harvested. For Georgians, wine goes beyond simple consumption, it is an important part of their identity and culture. Wine strengthens the national spirit and serves as a unifying force during traditional feasts. The vine is woven into the fabric of Georgian legends, stories and songs, which makes the wine a cherished national treasure.
